The UK Secretary of Defence, the Rt Hon Gavin Williamson MP, published today Mobilising, Modernising and Transforming Defence. Some of the headlines include:
- We will mobilise, making more of what we already have to ensure our Armed Forces are best placed to protect our security
- We will modernise, embracing new technologies and assuring our competitive edge over our adversaries
- We will transform, radically changing the way we do business and staying ahead of emerging threats
During commentary the Secretary of State said that the Innovation Fund would grow during 2019 to £50 million. The MOD will embrace modern business practices and establish a culture that nurtures transformation and innovation while increasing the weapons stockpile.
